The torrential downpour, which began in the early hours of September 16, 2025, overwhelmed the city’s drainage systems, turning roads into rivers and inundating residential areas. The unprecedented rainfall has caused significant damage to property, disrupted daily life, and prompted a large-scale rescue and relief operation by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other authorities.
